Man charged after pepper spraying Cricket Wireless employee in store robbery – Fort Hunt Herald


The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) has charged a Strasburg, Virginia man with the alleged robbery of a Cricket Wireless store at the Mount Vernon Square Center on Arlington Drive, in the Hybla Valley area.

Javon Paige, 32 years old, reportedly pepper sprayed a store employee before taking cash, phones and personal items. The incident occurred on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 at 11:26 a.m.

“A man entered the Cricket Wireless store and pepper sprayed an employee,” the Mount Vernon District Station stated.

“He stole cash, phones and personal items and fled on foot [but] was later found by officers and arrested.”

Paige remains in custody awaiting trial for two counts felony robbery, including a separate offense against a business on Aug. 26. That’s according to Fairfax County General District Court records, which showed Paige’s preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 21.
