Luke Patel began his Cricket Shepparton venture with a bang, clobbering an unbeaten ton on debut for Katandra.

With the Eagles having a bye in the top tier, the English import lined up against Undera in Clyde Young Shield B-grade action, steering his new outfit to 8-214 alongside club captain Jedd Wright (43).

The likes of Nathan Hickey (4-18) and Ryleigh Shannon (2-15) turned the screws with the ball and despite from resistance Matt Wishart (33), Bayden Bailey (30) and Ash Hockey (25) throughout the middle order for the Lions, it was not enough to produce more than 7-124 in their allotted overs.

● Central Park-St Brendan’s had the better of Numurkah in their Deakin Reserve battle – the last at the venue for about a month due to Greater Shepparton City Council irrigation and pitch works.

The Tigers had B-grade debutant Reza Kareem to thank for restricting the Blues to 7-134 as he claimed 5-22 from eight overs.

Sean Dawson (38 not out) and Matt Price (37) led the way for Numurkah with the bat, but it was not enough as Keagan Miller (50) and Peter Holland (45 not out) helped the Tigers compile a winning total of 3-145.

● A big win for Karramomus against Old Students was set up by Tristen Murray (59) and Callan Mears (46 not out) before being rammed home by Connor Michel (4-18) and Murray himself (3-5).

The Bloods made 6-232 before bowling the Students out for 121, with Matt Harris (37), Gerald Sabri (37) and Jamie Carr (23 and three wickets) the best performers for the vanquished.

● Kyabram was unstoppable with the ball against Northerners, defending 159 all out comfortably.

Angus McKenzie (4-9) and Connor Hawes (4-27) were the pick of the bowlers for the Redbacks as they knocked over the Jets for 59.

Dallas Furnell (3-30) was the most damaging Northerners bowler with Kyabram’s Jason Parsons top scoring for the match with 49.

● Shepparton United secured a seven-wicket win against Mooroopna after bowling the Cats out for 92.

Brian Tacey (3-6), Kristian Veal (3-23) and Mick Tate (3-24) were on fire for the Kangaroos before Travis Gillin (45) led the scoring with the bat.

Paul McDonald (26) and Riley Moon (2-13) battled hard for Mooroopna.

● Pine Lodge began its B-grade campaign with a win, defeating Tatura by seven wickets.

Xavier Hutchison (37) led the way for Tatura with the bat in an innings of 132, but Travis Knight (49 not out) and Hayden Cann (39) got the job done for the Lodgers.

Pine Lodge’s Sam Hayes was the pick of the bowlers on the day with 4-40.

● David Booth’s 66 helped Waaia to 175 against Euroa, more than enough to claim victory.

Seb Moore led the way with the ball for the Bombers, taking 3-14 to have the Magpies all out for 78 in the 35th over.
